Darryl G. Ford, P.Eng., FEC President & Chief Executive Officer Building Systems Engineering Director
Darryl graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. With more than30years of engineering experience, he is the President and CEO of Fundy Engineering andis also our director of building systems engineering services. Darryl has been actively involved in theengineering practice, having served as the President of the Association ofConsulting Engineering Companies‐New Brunswick in 2005 to 2006, as thePresident of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of NewBrunswick (APEGNB) in 2012 to 2013, and as a New Brunswick Director forEngineers Canada between 2013 and 2018. He chaired APEGNB’s CEO searchcommittee and the Continued Competency Committee and is currently Chair ofthe Discipline Committee.
While on the Board for Engineers Canada, Darryl saton various committees, including the CEO Compensation Committee, the CEOSearch Committee, the Audit Committee, and he Chaired the BridgingGovernment and Engineers Committee. He is also active in our community.Darryl served as the Chair of the Project Steering Committee during constructionof the Saint John Regional Y, he is the Past Chair of the YMCA of Greater SaintJohn Board and he is currently the YMCA Board representative on the YMCAEndowment Board.
Some of the projects Darryl has managed include: a comprehensive energy auditand design of a thermal oil heater retrofit and conversion to natural gas‐firedburners with modern and efficient controls for Fundy Linen Service Inc.; designof heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing systems, hydronic heating systems, controls andinstrumentation, and fire protection systems for Heritage Place in Saint John;providing design and project management services for the building systems ofthe Saint John Energy’s Headquarters; overseeing the building systems designfor several long‐term care facilities in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island; the Saint John Diamond JubileeCruise Ship Terminal; a 3.0 MegaWatt Bell/Aliant Generator; and the HewanorraInternational Airport in St. Lucia. In 2021, Darryl was presented with the President’s Award by APEGNB. The Award is given to a professional who has enhanced the role of APEGNB and other professional associations and societies through their outstanding service and dedication.
