Fundy Engineering has enjoyed a partnership with Habitat for Humanity Saint John Region for the construction of affordable housing in the Saint John region since its inception 1998. Fundy Engineering has donated all professional services required for the construction of the three Habitat Homes built since 1998. This has included house design, creation of drawings, drafting services, materials procurement and project management.
Habitat for Humanity Saint John Region is a not for profit ecumenical Christian housing ministry that builds decent homes for the inadequately sheltered. Successful applicants must fulfill four key requirements: they must have a need for adequate shelter; contribute a total of 500 hours of sweat equity; partner with Habitat; and, have an ability to pay the interest-free mortgage. As much as possible, the houses are built by volunteers with donations from building material suppliers and monetary contributions.
