Structural Engineer - Intermediate to Senior
Posted December 2007 Fundy Engineering is currently seeking experienced, qualified personnel to join our growing firm with emphasis in the fields of structural engineering, design, inspection and monitoring. Fundy Engineering has an established team of professionals that design mechanical and electrical building systems. The company has perceived a need to enhance it capabilities by adding structural engineering design to its spectrum of services offered. This will allow the company to offer coordinated and comprehensive building design services to its clients and to take on larger and more challenging projects. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain relations with existing clients and to develop relations with new clients. It is the intention of the company to support a successful team member with capital investment and support staff to grow this aspect of our engineering practice. Candidates must possess a university degree in Civil Engineering with strong experience in commercial and institutional building construction. Candidates should be members of or eligible for membership with APEGNB. This position is open to candidates with 5 or more years of experience, granted they have the academic qualifications listed above. Candidates must possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent time-management and organizational skills and have the ability to excel under pressure. Candidates must have strong technical skills with a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics packages. Responsibilities will include working with the building systems team at Fundy Engineering on the design of a variety of commercial and institutional buildings, inspection and analysis of client buildings, participation in property condition assessments, report writing, client relationship/network building and supervision of technical staff.
